Quay West Ballina respects your privacy. This policy explains what happens to personal
data when you visit quaywestballina.ie, and sets out your rights under the General Data
Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 and the Irish Data Protection Act 2018.
1. Who is responsible for your data
The data controller is Quay West Ballina, The Quays, Ballina, Co. Mayo, F26 E5C0,
Ireland. For any question about this policy or about your personal data, contact us by email at
paulgallagherchef@gmail.com or by phone on
+353 83 078 3860.
2. What this website collects
This website has no contact form, no booking system, no newsletter sign-up, no user accounts and no
analytics or tracking software of any kind. We do not collect your personal data through this
site. You can read every page, including all menus, without submitting any information to us.
3. Hosting and server logs
The site is hosted by Hostinger International Ltd. Like virtually all web servers, the hosting
infrastructure automatically records technical information when a page is requested — typically the IP
address of the device, the time of the request, the page requested, and the browser and operating system
reported. These logs exist to keep the service running, to diagnose faults and to protect against abuse.
We do not use them to build any profile of you and we do not combine them with other information.
Legal basis: our legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR) in operating a secure, functioning
website.
4. Cookies and similar technologies
This site sets no advertising, analytics or profiling cookies.
When you answer the cookie notice, your choice is saved in your own browser using local storage, under the
key qw-consent. This is stored on your device, is never transmitted to us, and exists only so
that you are not asked the same question on every visit. You can clear it at any time through your browser
settings.
If, and only if, you accept the embedded map, Google will set cookies on your device as described in the
next section. Nothing is loaded from Google Maps and no such cookie is set before you accept.
5. Third-party services
Three third parties are involved in delivering this site. In each case your IP address is necessarily
visible to that provider, because your browser connects to them directly in order to retrieve content.
- Google Maps — the map on the contact section is supplied by Google. It is blocked
until you give consent. Once loaded, Google may set cookies and process your IP address under its own
privacy policy.
- Google Fonts — the typefaces are served from Google's font service, which receives
your IP address when the fonts are fetched. No cookies are set by this service.
- cdnjs (Cloudflare) — the animation libraries used for scrolling effects are served
from Cloudflare's public library CDN, which receives your IP address for the same reason.
We have no access to, and no control over, any data these providers collect in their own right.
6. If you contact us
If you call, email, or message us on social media, we will hold whatever you choose to tell us for as long
as needed to deal with your enquiry or booking, and to keep a record of it where there is a good reason to.
We do not use contact details for marketing unless you have asked us to.
Legal basis: taking steps at your request before or under a contract (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR), or
our legitimate interests in responding to enquiries.
7. International transfers
Google and Cloudflare are established outside the European Economic Area, so the technical data described
above may be processed outside the EEA. Both rely on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and/or the European
Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses as their transfer mechanism.
8. How long data is kept
Server logs are retained by the hosting provider for a short period, generally no more than a few weeks,
and are then overwritten. Correspondence is kept only as long as it is useful or legally required. Your
cookie preference remains in your browser until you clear it.
9. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to request access to the personal data we hold about you; to have
inaccurate data corrected; to have data erased; to restrict or object to processing; and to receive data you
provided in a portable format. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time
without affecting the lawfulness of what came before. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the
details in section 1. We will respond within one month.
10. Complaints
If you are unhappy with how your personal data has been handled you may lodge a complaint with the Irish
supervisory authority:
Data Protection Commission
6 Pembroke Row, Dublin 2, D02 X963
Telephone: 01 765 0100 or 1800 437 437
www.dataprotection.ie
The Commission asks that complaints be made in writing, normally through the webform on its site; it does
not accept complaints by telephone.
11. Changes
If this policy changes, the revised version will be published here with a new date below.

accept no responsibility for their content, their accuracy or their privacy practices.
7. Availability and accuracy
We try to keep this site available and up to date, but we do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted,
error-free or free of harmful components, nor that the information on it is complete or current. We may
change or withdraw any part of the site at any time without notice.
8. Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude liability for any loss or damage arising from your use
of, or inability to use, this site, or from reliance on information published on it.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our
negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be
limited or excluded. Your statutory rights as a consumer under Irish and EU law are not affected by
these terms.
9. Privacy
Our handling of personal data is described in our Privacy Policy,
which forms part of these terms.
10. Changes to these terms
We may revise these terms from time to time. The version published on this page at the time you use the
site is the version that applies.
11. Governing law
These terms, and any dispute arising out of them or out of your use of this site, are governed by the laws
of Ireland. The courts of Ireland have exclusive jurisdiction, although if you are a consumer resident in
another EU member state you retain the right to bring proceedings in the courts of your own country.
